100% British rare breeds wool.
Blacker tamar lustre is semi-worsted spun from the fleeces of fine British rare breeds, including Teeswater, Wensleydale and Leicester Longwool. The natural grey of the Leicester Longwool makes two subtle base shades in silvery or mid grey. To give body and bulk, tamar lustre is blended with 30% Cornish Mule, which adds shimmer, drape, and additional softness. The bases are then dyed to an array of complementary colours, sometimes using the exhaust bath to make the paler version. These wonderful colours are all named for rivers in Cornwall where the Blacker yarns are milled.
